Reading Profbus address of S7315-2DP

Info1 Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have numerous DP slaves on a network. Iam sending data to a DeltaV master. The only difference between any of the stations will be the Profbus address. I want to display the correct station name on each slaveby reading the profbus address on each slave. How do I read (in each slave) the profibus address of itself. Regards, T

Info1 Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have 19 stations that I need to read the Profibus address for. I tried putting W#16#xy95 into the SZL_ID field but it comes up with an error. Also for the SZL-Header what format is it expecting. I tried declaring a word as STRUCT and putting in DB1.dbw8 but that dosnt work.Will this function read 20 profibus addresses. It also seems to use up 20bytes. Is there any easier way to simply read the profibus address.

Perhaps this FAQ might helps How is a DP slave's diagnostic data read out with SFC 51 "RDSYSST" (with an integrated DP interface on the CPU as the DP master)? Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

Hello Info1; When you setup a slave on Profibus-DP, you select a range of addresses in the input and output image tables of the master to build the exchange table. Each slave occupies a different range of addresses. We usually simply add comments to the I/O addresses used by each slave, indicating the slave number and the type f data transfered. For example, your comment could read "Sl12_ VotsA-B", or 'SL15_Motor_CMDStop". In your program these will apper in your logic. it requires a bit of initial work, but it is rock-solid. I am sure that this function is available on the DeltaV master, as it is in every system I have programmed. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier
