count down time value on HMI

MS10 Posts: 53 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have a tag with a data type TIME from a DB in Step7. This tag is counting down and I need to show this value on the HMI. I tried to create an IOfield in WinCC Flex but not sure whatformat type should I use so it shows the accurate time valueleft on the screen. Can anyone help me withthis problem? Thanks, MS

I've tried example 1 on the FAQ for the count down timer on the HMI - taking the BCD remaining timevalue from the timer and in the wincctag listI createdthe same tag with data type 'TIMER'. But the values projected on the screen still does not look right. Any idea why? Thanks, MS

Mikesidir Posts: 18 Rating: (1)	What I do is ... Instead of having a timer count down I make an Intiger with the time I want to count (ex. =30 for 30 secs) to decrease every time 1 second passes, so my timer is in intiger data type and not TIME...

I am quite frustrated that there is no straight forward way to do this. You would think that if Siemens created an HMI, you should be able to project atimer from Siemens PLCin a straight forward manner. Cheers, MS

MS10 Posts: 53 Rating: (0)	hi everyone, sorry for the many post. I finally managed to fix the problem by following example no 1 on the FAQ. Just realised that I'm still using the tag with data type WORD instead of the TIMER one. The only problem now is when I put a large enough time value, the IO field only decrease in value every 10 seconds (not every second as what I would like the program to do). Any idea how to fix this one? Thanks, MS
