Z axis contour monitoring

alexmac_uk Posts: 118 Rating: (1)	The machine has run for years. The control panel was very very hot. Maybe the circuitry in the Z axis drive module is damaged. The brake i think is powered by a 24v supply from the drive module which goes through a contactor. But both Z axis motors are moving, if i press reset and the emergency stop straight away the axis will move slightly but then stop due to the power being killed by the e-stop.

( As Example: Restore an old PLC-Programm with your MMC103/PCU50) alexmac_uk The control panel was very very hot. What do you mean with Control Panel ? ( NCU, MMC103/PCU) alexmac_uk Maybe the circuitry in the Z axis drive module is damaged. You have only the error when you make "emergency stop" ? When you NOT make an "emergency stop": If the machine is working correct ? Can you make maximal feed in z-axis ? Have the Z-Axis an "counterballance". ? I hope, you know what i mean Please answer all my questions !

No the machine will not jog any axis due to the error messages on the screen, usually by pressing reset will get rid of these messages.If i do an NCK reset the message will be Z! axis standstill monitoring then as soon as i press reset to clear this i get Z1 axis drive fault and Z1 axis contour monitoring.

Normaly maximal temperature should be 40°C. After your machine is working, we need a resolution für this problem. O.K. Then we must improve. Urgent, make sure, you drive in the correct direktion. For Information. You have Z1 and Z2 axis. Each axis have an contur-error when the axis is moving. I think, the movement is, when brake is opening. ( Aditional Info --> Possible is movement from the powerunit too, but i think you have no power) improvice: Take a big "wood" under the Z1 and Z2 axis. (stable enough for the weight of the z-axis) The "wood" must be so long, that the Z-axis can not be move down, when the brake is openeing. Make so often, that the boot z-axis not move down. Normaly, you have no error while the axis is move down. If you have already make it: Move the Z1-Axis slowly to top direktion. --> Work the Z1-axis correct ? Move the Z2-Axis slowly to top direktion. --> Work the Z2-axis correct ? With this information, ask here in forum. URGENTS: I give you only information about this ! alexmac_uk Posts: 118 Rating: (1)	There are only error messages for the Z1 axis which is the one the vibrations were coming from for no reason!. Z2 is also moving but not as much as Z1. By putting the wood under this going to do what though? just open the brake and stop the Z axis falling and maybe reset itself to normal?
