Nil96 Posts: 325 Rating: (14)	Hi, Need some calrifications for the one given below : We are working on a project with S7300(CPU315-2DP) based on Software Redundancy. 1) If we go in for ET200M modules(profibus), then module replacement is not possible since none of 300 CPU call OB83. But read in forum that inserting IM153as gsd will solve the above problem, tried this and there's no change in result. 2) If in case we consider CPU315-2 PN/DP, then module replacement ispossible since OB83 is applicable. But can we consider IM153-4 PN in Software Redundancy making use of 2 nos of CPU315-2 PN/DP ?? Regards Nil

But read in forum that inserting IM153as gsd will solve the above problem I'm sorry but it's not possible to have hot swapping with software redundancy based on S7-300 CPU. Even with the GSD file it is still not possible. Inserting/removing modules with S7 software redundancy If the ET200M is configured as standard slave in STEP7 (via the GSD file), then Insert/Remove is possible, because in this case it is not OB83 but OB82 that is called. This OB is supported by all S7-300/400 CPUs (See Entry ID: 1826766). However, since the S7 Software Redundancy package uses the "Acyclic reading/writing of data records" function and this is not supported by DP standard slaves (GSD), the mechanism cannot be used for S7-300 Software Redundancy. Nil96 2) If in case we consider CPU315-2 PN/DP, then module replacement ispossible since OB83 is applicable. But can we consider IM153-4 PN in Software Redundancy making use of 2 nos of CPU315-2 PN/DP ?? Unfortunately the only switchable IM153 is the IM153-2 HF. That's the one used with either software redundancy or H-system. So, the IM153-4 (i.e Profinet solution) will not work. Best regards. H-H

Nil96 Posts: 325 Rating: (14)	Hello H-H, What I understand by you reply is that : 1) If we are using 300 CPU for software redundancy along with IM153 bundle, Active rail and Active Modules, even then Hot swapping of modules is not possible. Only possibility is with 400 CPU. Am I right ?? 2) I tried using IM153 GSD in a standalone CPU (313C-2DP) and was successful in inserting/removing module online without any problem. But when I used the same GSD technique in a 300 s/w redundant system, it never worked (In h/w config, edit->insert redundancy was not getting enabled when GSD is used). So overall conclusion is that module hot swapping is not possible in 300 R System, but the same is possible in 400 R System.. Correct me if I am wrong. Regards Nil
