I have also done as you suggested on the LAN card properties and i have attached some errors i have seeing on HMI since yesterday and LMHOST and HOST of our Client3. I do not seem to see what exactly you mentioned, and i cant ping the names other than the ip addresses. Attachment Client Errors.zip (251 Downloads)

ABN Posts: 212 Rating: (12)	hi, in host file, below localhost, you should copy the above line ie, 127.x.2.1. <PC name> and shall replace the content by IP address and PC names of other PC in NW. regarding License error, let me know what is version? also, I can see ur wincc explorer is open so close it and see if pop up comes? as generally in Server we dnt have explorrer on. also, kindly post screen shot of ALM

Yoga Shankar Posts: 288 Rating: (22)	ABN hi, in host file, below localhost, you should copy the above line ie, 127.x.2.1. <PC name> and shall replace the content by IP address and PC names of other PC in NW. regarding License error, let me know what is version? also, I can see ur wincc explorer is open so close it and see if pop up comes? as generally in Server we dnt have explorrer on. also, kindly post screen shot of ALM A small addition to the above: In server client setups, its good practice to first decide on IP addressing scheme for all computers being used and make a list. on one PC , generally the ES, edit the lmhosts.sam file and include all the computers in the list inside it. even include the ES details here. after this, copy entire contents of the lmhosts.sam into a notepad. once a PC is assigned with ip address, transfer the notepad file into that pc and replace the target pc lmhosts.sam with the notepad contents. after completing this for all pc's, the network addressing issue and connectivity configuration issues are resolved completely. make a copy of this notepad into the disaster recovery DVD so that the issues will never comeup even if pc's get formatted later.

But still i wll need to do what ypu have said. By the way is it possible to install ALM from a siemens site, if possible, which one?

Yoga Shankar Posts: 288 Rating: (22)	ALM is installed with PCS7. it need not be installed separately. the correct version of the ALM is included in the PCS7 installation pack only. regardless of what you select to install, ALM is always installed, if not present.
