How to download part programes?

PISCEAN 2010 Posts: 8092 Rating: (884)	Hello Experts, We have 802D & 840D controllers. Can any one guide me as how to download part programs from PG or PC to controller, e.g. in PG in which format part program file to be created?, how & where to download the program in controller, i.e. path etc along with cable details etc. Thanks in advance.

makaveli Posts: 259 Rating: (5)	On 840 you can use USB or Ethernet connection. I always copy from PG to pendrive and then from pendrive to PCU. Other way is to make by cross cable lan connection and then copy directly from PG to PCU With regards, makaveli

makaveli Posts: 259 Rating: (5)	You create program in tormal tex editor I use notepad ++ you can there defined key words and have coloring syntax. But when you save program give himspecial extenstion for: - SPF for subprogram, - MPF for main program. With regards, makaveli

PISCEAN 2010 Posts: 8092 Rating: (884)	Hello Experts, The uploading/downloading of programs is carried out by production department. Recently a new laptop is purchased to meet this requirement. It is with RS232 port. Now my question is, with this port connectivity & RS 232 data cable combination, as explained in Siemens manual, can the part programs with help of WINPCIN be loaded in controller? Thanks in advance. Ekalavya Posts: 2964 Rating: (485)	Hello Deep, In 810D-840D-802D with the help of WINPCIN-PCIN tool we can download the part program... Text format is good way.... If you have 840D with PCU50/PCU50.3 best way to have your part program through USB. Regards, Ekalavya

I've never tried it as we tend to have Windows NT on most systems. Will it work with WinXP ( we have two ) and does the USB device have its' own softkey on the services page after selecting 'data out'? Or is it dependant on the 840D version? Thanks in advance Simon

Ekalavya Posts: 2964 Rating: (485)	Hello, USB is only possible with WINODWS Xp only ....you cannot have this feature in Windows NT..... for the USB softkey displaying check this infromations default it will not be there you need to changed this... for example TAKLING NC/PLC ARCHIVE BACKUP TO USB STICK: A USB stick start-up is possible under the following conditions: - PCU 50 Version 2, with 1.2GHz, 566 MHz - WINDOWS XP operating system and - HMI software version 6.3 or above i) Under F:\MMC2 directory you can find one more file called MMC.ini ii) Open that file and search (Ctrl+F) for word “Floppy”. iii) Floppy Disk= a: is changed to Floppy Disk= g: (or another free drive letter) iv) Save and reboot the PCU50_70 v) Once machine screens are appeared than insert USB stick on OP front side. vi) Now go to Service MENU and Press “Mange data”. vii) Under Disk/Card soft key (F2) you will find USB stick contents. NOTE: After this procedure Floppy drive will be no longer active. Regards, Ekalavya
