ET200S 4-20mA HART

EddyC Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Dear all, I plan on using IM151-1 with analog input modules 6ES7134-4GB01-0AB0 for a project..However, it appears that our customer ordered a sensor with 4-20mA HART output. Is it possible to read the analog signal, disregarding the HART protocol with this input module? Or will the HART protocol affect the analog reading? Thank you for your help

You can use this module with to read 4-20mA coming from HART transmitters (Sensors). 1- Your module can't act as a HART master. So, it will not request any data and there will be no HART telegrams over the 4-20mA DC signal. 2- Even if you put a HART multiplexer or a handheld HART communicator there will be still no problem. You can read more about HART if you just google it. My quick search led me to, HART Because the average value of the FSK signal is always zero, the 4-20 mA analog signal is not affected. Captain Asphalt Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Years ago, at least 9 I think, we talked to Siemens about a Hart version (non itrinsically safe version) for the ET200S. At that time it was a no problem. Somehow Germany never got it on the roadmap. Isn't it about time they look at it! Turck has it! There are a lot of us that just have a couple points we want to talk to. Just think, it would boost PDM sales! Mark
