Encoder Pulse Monitoring

I am having 840C CNC ,For X-axis ther is linear scale(Incremental type),After getting reference it is giving encoder pulse monitoring alarm.Axis is moving befor referencing, but aftre referencing it is giving above alarm,due to dis i cant move axis further.but before referencing i can move the axis in jog. Plz help me as fast as possible..
