Two CPUs in ome system

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 1/16/2026 Posts: 12481 Rating: (2722)	Hello Muhammad; Profibus-DP master-slave connections between 2 CPUsare common, easy to configure and require very little programming (only moving data between the DB area and thew input/output addresses of the CPUs). Look at the following sample program showing the simplest form of setup (both CPUs are in the same program): DP link between CPU 315-2DP (slave) and S7-400 (master) with STEP 7 V5.3 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

If yes - the only way i see is transferring via some HMI device, but this is STRONGLY not recommended - because if HMI node is lost communication is lost also. All other communications require some configuring... I guess you can try MPI and basic S7 communications (these require only SW download, but they don't work on Profibus as i remember).
