Replace the block type in the target.

mrkintaro Posts: 69 Rating: (1)	Hi, when I try to create a process tag from a cfc this is the message: The specified block type exists in the target and is incompatible with the block type in the source. Remedy: Replace the block type in the target. Any Advice?

Silent Bob Posts: 836 Rating: (100)	Hi, this means that you have a other version of a block in the block folder from the target than in the block folder of your libriary (maybe due to interface change, ...). Copy the specific block (wich one you want to use) either from libriary to the target or from the target to the libriary. Now open a CFC in the program where you copied the block to. Now make a block type update ("Options > Block types..." select the block you have inserted and click on the button New version). Now you should be able to import your process tag.

mrkintaro Posts: 69 Rating: (1)	I tried but the answer was: The object currently being used or edited no longer exists. A user may have deleted it in an engineering application. This error is likely if multiple users on the network are accessing the same data pool simultaneously.

Jazz_M Posts: 1121 Rating: (86)	Hi mrkintaro Check this out, close your CFC charts, then copy the block that you want to update from library and paste it in the block folder. It will ask you for a replace, say yes it will get updated. then open any CFC and click on options -> block type and say update. This should work. What version of PCS7 do you use. Havefun...
