Hello, The IM153-2 is a Profibus DP slave. The limitations of Profibus apply: - max 125 devices in total (due to addressing limits from profibus itself) on the network - max number of Master/slaves on a segment (32 without repeater) - above 32, you will need several segments of 30 devices with repeaters to link them - max number of DP slaves for the given CPU Other limits: - behind the IM153-2, you will put I/0 modules. For a given CPU, the amount of DP I/O has a limit. - Profibus is based on polling. The more slaves, the longer the time between two pollings of the same slave. It could be that this becomes too long for the process you want to control. There isa manual with the technical data of S7-300 CPUs.
