If system crashes during rebuild then it's a general windows problem. Windows NT as standard has never supported usb. Pee

No....Offical Siemensdoesn't allow to do this....but it is an un offical way of doing it.... it works... Ghost backup works...... Regards, Prakash

But you have after restore this ghostfile many problems. Problem 1 when connecting over USB adapter/Cointroller to WinXP SP3 computerthe hard disks is recognized with geometry Cylinder 592, Heads 255. With Image restorewrite you wronggeometry values (CHS's values) into the partition table. When starting the PCU in service Menue the partitions become "... Sorry, but this type of hardware is NOT supported!" - D, E, F was not found,Windows comes with this inconsistency clear, DOS not.Remedy: Restore the ghost file to the PCU50 V1 via the network. Problem 2 When you try to run chkdsk.exe in a Windows NT virtual machine to check a disk volume, chkdsk fails with the following error message: "This NTFS volume was created or modified by a later version of Windows NT. This version of chkdsk cannot be run on this volume. You must boot the version of NT that created/modified this volume and run chkdsk from that installation". This error message appears if you used a Windows XP system or later to perform a system reconfiguration on the Windows NT disk. When Windows XP accesses an NTFS volume created by Windows NT, it upgrades the file system version to 3.1. The files on the volume can still be accessed by Windows NT, but the chkdsk utility included with Windows NT is not able to check the volume for errors. i make diagnosticghost image. How do you get the ghost backup off NT in the first place ?. The original post explains about using a usb stick The USB to IDE adapter is not supported by NT and will not work. Don't you need to remove the hard disk and attach it to another computer ?. In which case ghost is not the best application for the job. Pee
