PISCEAN 2010 Posts: 8092 Rating: (884)	Hello Experts, In one of the application with DC motor, the starting torque requirement is 2.5 times the rated torque. I would like to know whether 6RA70 DC static converter has the same featuer available? If yes, does it requires any additional optional package or it is standard feature of drive? Also please let us know the parameter number & setting for the same? Thanks in advance. DEEP.

Just look at function diagram sheets G160, G161 of 6RA70manualand select required torque (and current) limits in parameters P171, P172, P605, P606, P603, P604. Also look at parameters P169, P170 (selection of torque/current control).

If so by which parameters. Thanks in advance. DEEP. This is speed-dependent current limitation, look at sheet G161 of function diagram and parameters P104-P109. Also described in chapter 9.16.

Also look at parameters P169, P170 (selection of torque/current control). Hello KSN, Thank you very much for your reply. As suggested by you, I have gone thru the diagrams. I have following queries. 1. Agreed I can set current limits in both the directions. But I want 250% ofboosting torque by the rated torque only for starting, how to set it? The time base for this torque is it adjustable? 2. Speed depedent current limit as showed in sheet G161 is at two different speed is OK. What I would like to know is, can user set such current limits during starting? My queries sounds littlebit crazy!!! Ok. But please help. DEEP.

If you want to set 250% of torque after start for some time, I think it will be better to make some logic using S00 blocks, e.g. timer on sheet B215. Or may be you will want to switch a torque limit dependent of actual speed, e.g. using B0120 and P373, P375 (sheets G187, G182), and then use changeover switch from S00 (sheet B150). In both cases you may connect output of changeover switch to the variable torque/current limit (P605 or P603). 2. Parameters P104-P109 always work, also at startup. But you can't change them during operation, only when drive have operating state ≥o1.0.
