DataBase connection KTP 600 Basic color

MKS02 Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	Is it possible to make a database connectionto an external mainframe with the KTP 600 Basic color? I know theHistorical Data function is disabled, if I use the KTP 600 Basic color device type in wincc Flexible 2008 SP3. Maybe I can do it like this? : Panel -> PLC database -> Mainframe I want tolog every alarmmessage that has been generated. So I can be able to monitor the alarms form the distance. Still being able to view the alarms with the Alarm View screen on the touchpannel. Also when there is a power failure, the alarm messages need to be reloaded in to the alarm view. So how can I load database info, from PLC database,back in to my Alarm view? Or do i need a SIMATIC HMI TP900 Comfort for this ?

If you choose Comfort panel then please keep in mind that you can't use it together with WinCC Flexible. You need WinCC V11 (TIA portal) for that. If you chose device type which is capable of storing historical data then maybe this FAQ will be interesting for you How do you integrate an HMI operator panel into a local network?

MKS02 Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	We will upgrade to Wincc v11 if necessary. And we probably use the comfort panels. If I can use Historical Data. Then I know I can save data on SD card. So that would solve my problem with the power failure. So if I understand it well. Sharing files between panel and mainframe is the same thing as sharing files in a windows home network? So I guess the log files will be automatic generated .txt files ?Unlike the basic panels, the comfort panels run on windows CE? If so now I understand way those panels cost more than the basic panels. If so, it opens a lot of possibilities.

On the other hand, comfort panels are way more powerful and has lots of features and my company had changed MP panels to Comfort panels. About network. You can save data or alarm logs on SD card as well as on network and the format of logs can be .csv, SQL or .txt, it depends on your choice.
