Hi, in order to be a profibus master, the CPUhas to have therequired interface (internal or external). https://www.automation.siemens.com/mcms/programmable-logic-controller/en/simatic-s7-controller/s7-300/cpu/compact-cpus/Documents/brochure_simatic-controller_en-43_table.pdf Yes, you can connect all your CPU's to the profibus so than they can communicate with each other. Regards. |

My vote is for using DP/DP Coupler. Even if it is need to spend more money. Anyway: S7-300 like a Profibus slave - What master/slave communication options are available on PROFIBUS DP? DP/DP Coupler - What are the special features of input/output addressing with the DP/DP coupler?and Configuration of the I/O Data on DP/DP Coupler
Best regards, Hristo Mihalev |

Dear UMENCHO, what's the advantage in using DP/DP couplers in this case?(except they cost extra money) And what stays against just using Master/Slave configuration? Regards. |
