Calm_down Posts: 324 Rating: (30)	Hello usjwo, well, there are really several of them especially if you concern the layers you can use them in. On the Hardware layer you could use the BT 200, a wireing-test-tool to figure out if the wirering is OK. On the lower Protocoll view you could use either a PROFIBUS Scope (Trebing & Himstedt)or the Amprolizer (Siemens), both Software-Tools to monitor and decode the Traffic on the Network. On the Applicationlayer you can use advaned Diagnostic features of Systems. A sample for this is the FB 126 for PROFIBUS DP in the SIMATIC S7 CPU. I hope this could help a bit. Stay calm

usjwo Posts: 36 Rating: (9)	No I don't need the diagnostic for any visualization. In case of profibus problem (connection/module defect/trafic) I want to connect with my laptop to profibus and find reason of problem. It should be separate software, not part of Simatic S7 or other. Regards Usjwo

Calm_down Posts: 324 Rating: (30)	Hello usjwo, the Amprolizer is a Software that uses EXCEL for diagnstics of the Traffic, you see each Telegramm in code. The Scope has a defined Hardware too. Check the Internet for more, if you want to Check this: www.sea.siemens.com/profibu/docs/monitr.ppt The BT 200 is only Hardware, no Software at all. Stay calm.
