MANISH PRASAD Posts: 38 Rating: (0)	Dear Sir, I am new to PCS7 , when i have modified in one of the FB block and try to download then "Entire program downloaded to CPU" option available not "Change Only". So I want to know what are the condition when only "Entire Program download" option appear. Regards Manish Prasad

umencho Grandmaster Joined: 3/21/2006 Last visit: 1/10/2026 Posts: 10247 Rating: (1183)	Hello, When changing the interface (IN-, IN/OUT-, STAT, or OUT parameters) of a program module, the CPU has to be in the "STOP" mode for the download of these changes.Since the actual interface is not altered, loading the changes is now possible and the CPU does not have to be in STOP mode. Question In which situation must I download the entire program while the CPU is in STOP instead of downloading only the changes? Answer CPU stop is always required if the following actions were carried out: Update of blocks whose structure was changed. For information on a new software version with enhanced blocks, refer to the chapter "Software update". Deletion of the RC_IF_CFG (FB850) block in an AS, or deletion of an AS that contained an RC_IF_CFG block. Insertion of an RC_IF_CFG block in an AS, or insertion of an AS that contains an RC_IF_CFG block. Note Run a RouteControl Wizard session in situations 2 and 3 in order to re-generate the S7 connections. The Wizard assigns all RC_IF_CFG blocks new connection IDs. That is, you have to download the data once again to all ASs that contain an RC_IF_CFG block. CPU STOP is mandatory in these situations, as the connection ID is not activated in the AS unless system function SFB PUT is initialized. Additional information Additional information about delta downloads (= download of changes) and on avoiding the causes of CPU STOP is available in the "Download" chapter of theCFC for SIMATIC S7Manual. Downloading to the AS 14.1 How to download programs Notes on downloading changes} And from online help: What situations will prevent online downloads of changes? It is no longer possible to download changes if the following conditions are present: · A used block type has been replaced by a new version that contains structural changes, for example, due to the addition of I/Os and/or messages. · DB and FC number areas have been compressed during compilation using the menu command Options> Settings> Compile/Downloadј> Option: "Compress" DBs and FCs will be assigned a new numbering sequence in this case. · A modified program was downloaded to another CPU prior to the download of changes, for example, for testing purposes. In this case, the time stamp no longer matches the time stamp of the original CPU. Exception: If you use the "Download to test CPU" option in the "S7 Download" dialog box, the download identifier and comparison stamp are retained. You can thus still transfer the program to the original CPU by downloading changes. · You have restored a program from archive. This is not the original program used for the last download (time stamp comparison).

Eastern Posts: 557 Rating: (64)	Hello, i do'nt see any reason for entire downlod program when you are changing only one block. i think complie your all program, this setting you can try on simulater also. i would suggest complie your all program & try to download change only without module driver option on simulater.
