Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	010A is real strange output. Could you verify that FB3 is standard block? Commonly, it could be amount of bytes sent, but this SFB doesn't output it like that.

SteveA Posts: 297 Rating: (42)	That is an 840D specific function. You probably should have asked in the Sinumerik forum. The function and the error is described in Doc on CD. It says that variable 1 has an error in variable addressing. Unit or column/line contains value 0. It depends on how you defined the variable in NC Var Selector. You can either hard code the unit and line/column, in which case the FB3 call can have 0, or if you specify 0 in NC Var select, you have to put a valid unit or line/column in the FB3 call. It can be useful to use the unit and line/column in the FB3 call, since you can use a single variable definition to read a series of related NC variables, like the axis position for all axes.
