Textbox object script

NickEmonds Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	I've created a textbox object on one of my screens. Now I want to add text to it, using a script. I can connect a tag to the box and change the tag in a script. But a tag has a maximum of 255 characters. How do I 'create' the object in the script? Normal tags he does recognize automatically. I've found something on the web like: 'hmiruntime.Screens("screenname").ScreenItems("objectname")' But that doesn't work for me.. I'm a really beginner, so i would like to have some help

Darius Platinum Member Joined: 9/28/2005 Last visit: 12/9/2025 Posts: 2957 Rating: (243)	Hi, Unfortunately I have no computer with Flexible now (its Sunday ), but if its urgent and you have computer, then look at the help system and you will see which screen objects has 'text' property. I don't remember which that objects was, but if you inserst correct screen item with property 'text' you could access it with HMIRuntime.ActiveScreen.ScreenItem("someitem").Text. This property has read/write access so it should do. Tomorrow I can check in Flex how it is in reality.

Access during runtime: Read and Write Syntax Object.Text [= STRING] Object Required. An object of the "ScreenItem" type with the characteristic "TextField". STRING Optional. A value or constant which determines the label text color. So it seems that text field has this attribute with read/write access and you should be able to operate on it with VBS.
