All the merker area are set to 0 after download

umbe Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I'm using the TIA portal V11 SP2 and a 1214C CPU firmware V2.1 , every time I download a change I have made to my program to my CPU, the CPU goes to STOP and then back to RUN , after this i have all the merker area set to 0 ( also the retentive area ) ..... instead after the power ON , the retentive area M maintains the stored values ...... .. is normal ?? thanks

More info on - Downloading in RUN mode

For routine updates or minor changes, doing as suggested with the firmware and Portal updates (and updating your project to match updated firmware plc) keeps the plc in run mode which keeps your values intact. There is a way to cheat by using a runtime basic panel project to 'save' specific data to a 'recipe' before downloading to the plc, then restore the recipe data after the plc restarts. I found info on it in the FAQs here.
