Program Loss Issues after PWR Failures

I am running the following hardware, 1 x PS407 10A 1 x CPU416-3 1 x CP 443-1 and about 8 remote ET200 I/O Racks. Now we have been having sporadic pwr failures, and the ups only lasts an hour or so. Normally the PLC comes back up with the program intact and no issues. On Saturday we had an extended pwr outage approximately 8 hours. when the power was restored the cpu was blank. I have 2 x batteries in the PS unit and the there are no alarms or warnings fo them. Can anyone shed some light on what the possible problem could be? or any reccomendations on what i could do differently? Thanks Craig

Or power supply is faulty, had 2 cases off that in the past. you can easy replace power supply by using a external supply ont the CPU connector. Regards, Marcjan

And we have a Shutdown coming up in June so will re-investigate the entire issue then Thanks for all the feedback. Craig

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	Please explain what for do you use RAM card? Is your program so big, that it can't be stored in internal S7-400 memory and you need RAM extension? Personally i think RAM cards are pretty useless. What i mean is - in most situations you will either have enough load memory in internal CPU memory (RAM not needed) or not enough memory in work memory (RAM won't help you out then). I would say the rest when RAM is actually needed (load memory not enough and work memory is enough) is very specific - i didn't came across this situation... //////////////////////////// Regarding your initial situation - yes, program in CPU should be stored in your case. Maybe batteries were defective, so they could lose charge in 8 hours? Can you say if batteries were exhausted AFTER these 8 hours when you turned CPU on again?
