Communication without module cp

rafalekjan Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello I have two s7 300: CPU315-2PN/DP CPU315 with cp342-5 I want to connect plcs. Communication is working when I connect CPU315-2PN/DP as Master and CPU315 as SLAVE. Like that: Now I want to connect conversely where CPU315-2PN/DP is SLAVE, and CPU315 is MASTER. I trying and trying but always ended with bus fault and system fault. Master CP315-2PN/DP don't have module communication and I don't know which adress I must write to CPLADDR. I also try use another functional block but it's still dont work. I want to read & write some HEX information to them from VAT table. I want to know, how can I communicate them and configure. Please help :) Best Regard

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 1/16/2026 Posts: 12481 Rating: (2722)	Hello rafalekjan; The configuration steps tosetup a CP 342-5 as DP=master to a CPU 315-2DP as DP-slaveare explained in the following FAQ: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/6518938 There are also sample programs showing the way to write functions DP_Send and DP_Recv in the CP 342-5 master; on the slave side, you can have either standard exchanges (easier) or you can choose consistent exchanges with SFC 15/14. The LADDR of SFC 15/14 refer to the start address of the Inputs and Outpus used in the data exchanges (see the pdf included in the link). How does it interfere with the CP 343-1 communications? There should be no connection between the two. As a test, build a new project without CP 343-1, only the CP 342-5 as DP master (use thesample programs as a basis)and see how that works for you. Once you have understood the workings of the Profibus-DP exchanges with the CP 342-5, then go back to the original poject (with the CP 343-1) and adapt to your specific application.
