In PCS7 system with Windows 2003 server installed, network 1 is connected to Plant bus and network 2 is connected to terminal bus.Could someone help me how server configuration has been done? how these data from automation system AP stored in the server and OS client HMI get data?. Any documents for windows 2003 server configuration in PCS7 would help a lot. Thanks mj

Yoga Shankar Posts: 288 Rating: (22)	There is no need for any special configuration changes to windows server 2003 operating system. 1->Configure all the PC stations with the MAC/IP addresses in the project. 2->Create S7 connections 3-> from the Netpro, configure and download the PC stations. 4-> compile and download the OS server/client projects into the respective machines. ( just download to the station. the system will take the addresses automatically)

mj_mj Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	so therfore in server configuration you have to add in the hardware configuration the two network cards address assign for terminal and plant bus then performed downloading..It will work, no special settings in the windows server.

cabreytj Posts: 170 Rating: (66)	Only the OS Server System/Plant Bus network card(s) are configured in SIMATIC Manager/Hardware Configurator. Do not configure the Terminal Bus network (whether the ES, OS Server, OS Client, OS Web Server, etc.) in SIMATIC Manager/Hardware Configuration Tool. For Terminal Bus configuration use SIMATIC Shell (accessable from Windows Explorer). In SIMATIC Shell just select the appropriate Ethernet card/adaptor that is connected to the Terminal Bus. Also, make sure the Terminal Bus network card/adaptor is at the top of the windows binding order/list. cabreytj
