PCS7 8.0. Export address from hardware.

Rollex Posts: 161 Rating: (4)	Hello! I have hardware configuration in PCS7 8.0. Does somebody knows how can i get the table with ADDRESS list from hardware (modules channels in et200m)? I want to connect some Excel tables with description of signals and this one, and get the full symbol table. Thanks.

Silent Bob Posts: 836 Rating: (100)	Hi, I don't know such a function. You have to do it manually. Maybe this will make it a little bit easyer: When you right klick on a signal module, you can select "Symbol Table". There you can enter the symbols for this module. So you can enter some temporary symbols over this view. After this you can copy your symbol table to excel and replace those temporary symbols. Some other possibility would be to open the adress overview ("HW config > View > Address Overview..."). There you can see all address. Take the start adress of the relvant device and enter it to excel. There you can calculate the follwoing addresses (DI: x.0 - x.7, AI: DWx, DWx+2, DWx+4, ...).

If you edit symbols and hit the 'Add to Symbols' button, it will fill in all the empty symbols with the Address under the column 'Address' without the space. This will be quicker than adding each one individually. Thus if it were an analog input module, and you hit add symbols your default addresses would appear as, IW512 IW514 IW516 etc, albeit this is slow if you have many IO modules. Silent Bob's second way is perhaps the fastest if your good with excel. Get first addresses of modules (with know IO type as SB has denoted) massage in excel, import into Symbol Table (to make sure there are no errors), then upon export (if done correctly this is redundant) you have a clean version of all IO addresses available, with symbols.
