Hello, If you mean changing "step jumps" in setpoints to ramps, please check descriptions of the following parameters as shown in the attachment or full Block diagram of PID_CTRL here: SPRAMPOF,SPURLM,SPDRLM If that is not your case, see more options here. cabreytj Posts: 170 Rating: (66)	If your are using APL (Advanced Process Library) PID Blocks (PidConL or PidConR) then you have the following options: SP_RmpModTime: Determines whether ramp will be based on time duration (=1) or ramp rate Eng Units/Time (=0) SP_RmpTime: If Ramp based on Duration (SP_RmpModTime = 1) this is the Duration Tiime (in Secs for V7.1 or TimeFactor for V8.0) SP_DnRaLim and SP_UpRaLim: If Ramp based on Rate (SP_RmpModTime = 0) this is the EU rate used (Down can be different from the Up rate). Again, rate based on EUs per Time where Time is in Secs for V7.1 and TimeFactor for V8.0. SP_RmpTarget: This is the Final Setpoint that the PID Controller will ramp to (starting from the current SP when the ramp is initiated) unless the ramp is aborted earlier. Once the target setpoint is reached the Ramp is concluded (SP_RmpOn will be reset to FALSE). SP_RmpOn: When set to TRUE the SP Ramp initiates starting from the current SP ramping to the Target SP over the duratiion or rate selected. NOTE: PID Controller must be in AUTO-Internal. If PID Controller mode changed out of AUTO-Internal the Ramp will abort and SP_RmpOn will be reset to FALSE. With V7.1 these parameters all have there S7_link attribute set to FALSE so cannot interconnect by default since tyipically controlled via the Faceplate.In V8.0 all of the S7_link attributes have been removed for these parameters. But ifyou interconnect these signals need to set the associated OS_Perms falseso as to not mislead the operator via the faceplate. However in V7.1 or V8.0 can use an OpAnaLor in V8.0 use RateLim (both blocks which have the same Ramp functions) and interconnect with SP_Ext and use with the PID Controller in Auto-External. This maintains the ability for the operator to initiate ramps from the Faceplate when iin Auto-Internaland for logic to also initiate ramps when in Auto-External. cabreytj
