Setting Ret_Val to a custom data type gives "Internal error"

Jeremy Mahieu Posts: 101 Rating: (8)	I made a data type called "Telegram", consisting of: Int Array [0..99] of Byte Whenever I try to set the Ret_val of a FC to this data type "Telegram" it refuses to compile, giving a "Internal error." Does anyone have an idea?

Does anyone have an idea? Contact Support Requestand let them know the problem. To get your project working, create an output for your FC and copy your telegram value to that output. The ret_val is typically a bool or void, at least from what I've seen.

Jeremy Mahieu Posts: 101 Rating: (8)	I have contacted customer support: You can avoid this error if, instead of editing seperate fields of de ret_val, you only do a single assigment. For example: BAD -> ret_val.length := 1; GOOD ->ret_val := DB1.empty; BAD -> ret_val := DB1.empty; ret_val.length := 1; GOOD -> temp :=DB1.empty; temp.length := 1; ret_val := temp; I hope they patch this sometime in the future, it really is a neat feature to shorten code a lot.
