hi !!! I have a quite complex wincc runtime application running on one pc. Now, i was asked to make the same application in other pc, so that it can be a bit more simple...therefore i'll haveboth pc's sharing tags but they within different screens...so my ideia is to go to the master pc and get some tag values and show them in the "slave pc"...can i use sm@rtAccess to acomplish my goal ? where can i get a good sm@rtAccess manual ? i tried the WinCC_Getting_started_Options but the example showned there is a bit different from what i'm looking for... thanks in advanced for your help !!! best regards, Diogo |

Hi Diego. WinCC Flexible dont have the possibilty to be a transparant webserver. Maybe it will become possible in the future. Smart Access and Smart Service will let one PC take control of the screens of the other PC. One HMI takes control and the other HMI becomes passive. In other words, the two PCs will not operate independently of each other. If you want the two PCs to operate independently of each other, then just create a duplicate project on another PC. You will have to purchase 2 full licenses. An additional advantage is that if one PC is shutdown, the other is unaffected. edit: It is not what I meant with tranparant webserver. But just to clear up the possible confusion, with sm@rtaccess, one HMI can access the tags of another HMI. Then there has to be a complete project on theHMI that is accessing the tags indirectly via the other HMI. There is also the possibilty to let one HMI take over the control of the screens on the other HMI. The HMI that is taking control of the other HMI, do not have to have a configured project with all the tags and screens etc. It simply operates the other HMI remotely. This is what I meant with my previous comment. |

No, I am right. Yes, smart@service will make the PC be a webserver for another PC. But it will not be transparant. The contol is passed from one PC to the other. It can be OK for Diego, if he can accept that only one PC can be operated at a time. |

Hello Marques. You are absolutely right, with sm@artaccess (not sm@rtservice)a 2ndHMI can access the tags of the 1st HMI. And it uses HTTP to pass the data. Diegostill needs a full RT license on the 2nd HMI. I think that sm@artaccessis clever if the online connection to the PLC is via Profibus. You can then put many HMIs on Ethernet and only use one connection on Profibus. If Diego uses Profibus for the online connection, then I think it can be a good idea touse sm@artaccess. Otherwise not. I use ethernet between PLCs and HMIs, and for PCs I simply buy an additional license when I have to have one more PC. For example, it gives me the freedom to update one PC whithout affecting the other PC. |
