I believe there are several options for sequencing in S7-1200. You can use JMP_LIST or SWITCH program control instructions. I think SWITCH is the closest instruction to what you are looking for. Look in the program control instructions

William_B Posts: 5225 Rating: (1204)	Thank you Marcjan to point out the functionality of the SCR instruction in the S7-200. These functions closely relates to GRAPH, if I am not mistaken. There are PLCs out there that are very strong in the use of graphs which makes it easier to design a sequence program. To Adnan Shahid: I am very curious to know whay you are wishing to use these function. I caution of for using this method however.. user interrupted stops are too often forgotten about. The S7-1200 does not have the same functions.. Siemens thus have room to expand into for future designs to include GRAPH type functions thus. SET - RESET commands are used by most to do sequencing, but it is not the only method. May I put 3 alternative ideas to you? 1. Use an INT variable as sequence indicator. Comapre function to indicate in which setp you are and MOVE instruction to move to a next step. Much the same as SET - RESET, but it is easier to follow in your program which step is busy. 2. Use a WORD variable, which each bit represents a step. MOVE a number (dividable by 2.. like 1 / 2 / 4 / 8..) into the variable as seed. A SHIFT LEFT command can then be used to move from one step to the next. [Lesson learnt from AllenBradley programmer.] 3. Combining previous ideas to a SWITCH / CASE / JUMP commands can bring down the effective scanning cycle. Multiple branching becomes a pain but can be resolved by make sequences inside sequences. The advantage of using method 1 or 2 is that you can display these variables on a display panel. This makes it possible for users to know in which step the sequence is and what is expected next. telfex Posts: 8 Rating: (1)	Hello, At first, I was also using SCR function in S7-200. But alternative ideas, like using state integer (or similar) gives you better control and debugging options and easier monitorng of your sequences. Another benefit is platform independency. Regards, Nejc Fedran
