Access to Prowirl 73F via PDM 6.0 + SP5

AntonN Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello! We've been trying to set up parametrs of E+H Prowirl 73F Profibus flowmeter via PDM using latetst DDLs from E+H site (PDM_PB_Flow_Package_1.07.00). And we get strage results. Here's what we did: 1. Scanned the PA network to get the list of available devices. 2. Chose the device with the required address and opened it. PDM offered to choose the device type from catalog. 3. Selected the version 1.03.xx. 4. Successfully uploaded (upload to PG/PC) current parameters and values from the device. 5. Typed in ACCESS CODE value 73 (according to manual) 6. Set up required parameters (totalizers, eng. units etc.) and tried to download it to the device and got en error "Connectabortion" (see screenshots). The manual says that there also a parameter called WRITE LOCKING is required but IT WASN'T IN THE LIST.. 7. Tried to select versions 1.02.xx and 1.00.xx - 1.01.xx but it didn't help either: WRITE LOCKING parameter was in the list (under the PROFIBUS section) but it was inaccessible (greyed out) as well all the other parameters (including ACCESS CODE), see screenshots. Check out the manual in chapter hardware setting (or something like that). Thanks for the reply. Yes, I know that there's a DIP switch for hardware write locking. But the parameter "WRITE LOCKING" I mentioned had four-digit format (something like "2457"). Techsupport from E+H have also mentioned this code. Besides I tried to write to device with both states of this DIP switch (in order to exclude the wrong hardware setting problem)..

Silent Bob Posts: 836 Rating: (100)	So you found the device in the network and you was able to upload the parameter from the device to PDM. This means, that the conenction is ok. With version 1.03 you did not have the write locking prameter and in the other versions it was greyed out... what is strange in my opinion. Where is this parameter in version 1.03? Have you called E+H support, maybe they had simmilar issues in the past.

Unfortunately, the only thing I found out from contact with E+H support is that the only thing I can get from them to help me with this PDM issue is dowload link for the latest DDL's. If I had used E+H software/harware to access the device then it would have been their issue..

AntonN Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	JUlises, yes, the problem is solved by now. I downloaded the latest DDL's from E+H site, which were available in late autumn 2012 and successfully configured Prowirl 73F. So I think the main problem was in coordinating the version of PDM and version of DDL for my E+H device, but not in codes and other security stuff.
