Dear All,

We have requirement wherein we will be using below mentioned modules,

The following failsafe modules and features are additionally available: ET200iSP:

Module Name	Order No.
8 F-DI NAMUR, Ex	6ES7 138-7FN00-0AB0
4 F-DO 40mA, Ex	6ES7 138-7FD00-0AB0
4 F-AI HART, Ex	6ES7 138-7FA00-0AB0

in which we have Query for F-DI NAMUR Module, 6ES7 138-7FN00-0AB0 (8 F-DI NAMUR, Ex).

For the F-DI NAMUR Module, is it possible to use the same module for connecting Normal DI Field Device (say limit switch or contact) F-DI (w/o NAMUR Ex) field devices? Or

is it recommanded to wire Field Device which is only NAMUR compliant?

Are there any DIP switch settings available on the above mentioned module for using multi-function card in F-System? Like we can use the field device as Non-NAMUR complaint andthen in the futuresame devicecan be replaced with NAMURcompliant field device.We can configure the F-DI card with NAMUR capability or DIP switch setting modifications?

Query: Is the 8 F-DINAMUR, Ex (6ES7 138-7FN00-0AB0) supports both the above mentioned functionality?

jklm Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, Have a look to the product release: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/47405022 It is stated: 8 F-DI Ex NAMUR digital electronic module: suitable for the following sensors to IEC 60947-5-6 or NAMUR (with diagnostic evaluation) mechanical contacts with snubber circuit (with diagnostic evaluation) unprotected mechanical contacts (with disabled diagnosis) I put in annex a picture of the channel properties in Step7.
