Main issues using Pcs7 8.0 upd1 and Windows 7 Pro

I have 7 pro on my laptop, no issues. On a project we hadd Win 7 pro, we had issues, but was network related. So who has experience using Windows 7 Pro instead of the compatible Ultimate. Pro's and cons?

As a matter of fact only Win7 in the Ultimate version is released to be used with PCS 7 V8.0. If you ever have problems with a project running on Win7Pro andwould like tobe supported from Siemens they might be only telling you not to use products which aren't tested and released... So what I could imaging is to run Win7Pro on ES stations if there are no problems. But I recommend NOT to use Win7 Pro on any productive plant assets like servers, clients, ...

Chandra Tiwari Posts: 247 Rating: (2)	hi Oreca, I also faced the same issue with Win7 Pro. better use Windows 7 Ultimate or Win XP SP1. Widonws 7 Pro will show lots of error and WinCC curruption error. Regards, RaviS

	"Expert" does not necessarily mean Siemens employee. Please cross-check your requirements always with official Siemens documentation. Also "Experts" are pleased about feedback.
