Dey ! Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	System Details - Windows OS - XP SP3 Am trying to install PCS7 V8 update 1 in my system . However the .NET Updater component is not starting and the installation is stuck . I tried the same using changing the installation CDS , and formatting my system many times. Still the same problem is happening. Please suggest , if my PG is problematic , or is it a bug ? However , prior to this I have installed PCS7 V8 update 1 , in 3-4 systems, containing windows XP sp3 . But never ever I have faced any problem while doingso Please suggest

Dey ! Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi I installed message queueing . IIS I believe is not a mandate as I am not using Web server component. It gets stuck in the .NET UPDATER component , that is the first component that can be seen in the installation list when the installation process starts. And meanwhile , PCS 7 checks the system before starting the installation and gives a POP UP if any component is missing . So I personally dont think the problem is because of IIS and message queueing Thanks and PLS SUGGEST ME SOME OTHER WAYS TOO

RugbyGuy Silver Expert Joined: 1/15/2009 Last visit: 10/30/2025 Posts: 316 Rating: (40)	I have seen this before on a couple installations, the cause and solutions are, 1) PC Name is incorrect, it must contains only letters or Numbers, (No dashes '-') 2)If using INTEL Cards, If you use an INTEL network adapter, install the driver located on the "PCS 7 Software Support & Tools DVD 2011.01" in the separately available "PCS 7 V8.0 Software Support Package" (order number 6ES7650-4XX08-0YT8) under "01_Drivers\NETWORK\Intel\Intel_LAN_V16.02.49.zip". Please let me know if either or these solves your case..Thank you.

Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Dear Sir, I took care of the above checkpoints , i.e made sure that the PC name has no special characters and seondly I installed the INTEL network adapter from the support CD as mentioned. Now then the installation has started , but the installation got stuck , while installaing the component PCS 7 V8.0 HSP Upd1 . The same thing has happened twice. I wonder , If PCS7 V8.0 upgrade 1 works on Windows XP SP3 platform. Please suggest , if theres anything else. Regards, Dey

Can you provide a screen capture of where is erroring/stopping? Is there a message? But it clears the Simatic Net portion that you used to have... yes?
