840D sl, tracing M codes

Mr G Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Hi. We have a machine with an 840D SL control. I can trace some of the M codes, programmed in DB21. DBX xx.x. In cross reference everything is there. No problem. But we use example M50, M51,M52 and M53,and the bits are not addressed in DB21.DBX200.2-200.5 directly. Can't find them in cross reference either.Those M codes are functioning but I do not know where can I find those? In caseI need some more, I do not know how many are programmed in the background? Can some one help me how to find the way to see those M codes and how are programmed? Thanks. Mr G

MBA Posts: 594 Rating: (79)	maybe M Codes are not M Codes it is possible that M function to be replaced by a subroutine or PLC CODE is very good safe against Reverse Engineering

OPN DB21 A DBX 200.2 // M50, dynamic .... the Cross reference shows here only "DB?.DBX200.2" Additionaly: You can decode the auxillary functions manually by using: - DB21.DBX 58.0..4 (strobe bits for all 5 M-fctn chan 1) - DB21.DBW68 (extended address 1st M-fctn chan 1)(edited) - DB21.DBD70 (M-code 1st M-fctn chan 1) - DB21.DBW74 (extended address2nd M-fctn chan 1)(edited) - DB21.DBD76 (M-code2nd M-fctn chan 2) - DB21.DBW80 (extended address3rd M-fctn chan 1)(edited) - DB21.DBD82 (M-code3rd M-fctn chan 3 - DB21.DBW86 (extended address4th M-fctn chan 1)(edited) - DB21.DBD88 (M-code4th M-fctn chan 4) - DB21.DBW92 (extended address5th M-fctn chan 1)(edited) - DB21.DBD94 (M-code5th M-fctn chan 5) usually the PLC-code to uncode the aux-fctns is located in FC12. Mr G Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Hi, there is no OPN DB21. If that would be, I could trace the bit address. That would be very nice. There is no cross reference for the DB21.DBX200.0-200.3. The FC12 is empty. It is coded as you mention itin the lower section, but is no need to put M1=50, or M1=51... We use it only as M50 (opens sliding door), M51 (closes sliding door)... Confuses me... Additional we have M45 as well, but that one is programmed different way. Can't trace it, very ambiguos... My problem is: I do not know how many of M codes are used, so I do not know which one canbe choosen in the future, not to have double usage. Thanks for your oppinion. Any other idea?

You dont find the plc code for M50 (DB21.DBX y.yyyy) read the electrical drawings search the output for the door search in PLC code this output and follow the Code in reverse direction this is my last post for this problem There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't

As I mentioned: I do not know how many are still in the PLC program hidden. I would need maybe M77 and M78, and assign in programas binary (yes, I can understand binary)in DB21. But this is maybe already used by coding. If you can understand: good. If not: do not post. Thank you.

SteveA Posts: 297 Rating: (42)	MBA suggested that maybe a subroutine is started by an M code. Did you check parameters 10715 and 10716 to see if the missing codes are defined there? Also, did you check the macro definition files MMAC.DEF and UMAC.DEF to see if the m codes are specified as a substitution macro? HTH, SteveA

Mr G Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	In 10715 is only one number: 6. We run the tool change and we use M6 (L6 subrutine) for it. Nothing else. Example the M50, M51,M52, M53 are directly called up in the NC program, as I just wrote it. Not used M1=50 or so... there are M45 and M46, as well andthose are addressed by MD14510 parameters. My problem is that if I will need more M codes in the future, can't find the used once and not beeng sure if I choose some, is it already used or not? I am trying to find out a list of them (example: cross reference, or os any other list) and look the availability. For me, it looks like there are many ways to program those. Thanks.
