Sink/Source terminology

Can someone provide detailed information about sink and source logic. I find some explanation on internet but,it is not the same. Best regads, Miloš

On Siemens connect +24Vdc via pushbutton to inputs...that is sink input...Right? On MX2 connect +24Vdc via pushbutton to inteligent terminal that is as manual say, source type...
