Regarding Noise in s71200

Import-User-1 Posts: 3609 Rating: (29)	Import of a technical question of AmitC AmitC Dear Sir, I am using s71211C with MODBUS Communication for flow measurement and i used loadcell with amplifier as analog input. Inside programming i done all calculations regarding flow measurement and got flow rate output finally and taken that output value through MODBUS to PC. In this i got lot of flutuations from the loadcell input signal and i enabled noise reduction parameters inside PLC properties but i got more fluctuations from input. Due to fluctuation of noised input signal, i got faluted output. Can u suggest me to reduce and eliminate the fluctuation(noise) in analog input signal for further ?

If you can tolerate a slower load cell response, you can put a capacitor across the load cell amp output. That will help smooth things out considerably. Choose the smallest C value that provides sufficient signal speed for your process and data collection needs, yet slow enough to provide the required smoothing. Could itbe your load cell amp is providing a current output (4-20mA) and your analog input is expecting voltage, or the opposite? Is it possible the physical device the load cell is monitoring is truly moving that much and that fast? Try using an analog signal simulator at the cable connecting to your load cell amp. See if a smooth slowly moving signal appears to the plc as a slow moving signal, or is it noisy. If it is smooth, you know the signal is between the physical world and the load cell amp. You may need some type of dampener on your physical device to prevent damage to your load cell. Post your results!
