Client asked me to help him understand how to addressing different memory areas in GET and PUT blocks. Also I have problem with addressing memory areas as boolean array like this – P#M5.1 BOOL 5 Step7 accepts this address but GET and PUT blocks don’t start communication.

If I use address like P#M0.0 BYTE 160 I can transfer up to 160 bytes for s7-300 and up to 920 bytes for s7-400. Also I can transfer 1 counter or 1 timer if I use C0 or T0 in ADDR_1 terminal. Question is how to tramsfer few counters. Or found documentation explicitly forbid this.

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	Well, as i said you can not transfer LESS than 1 byte. If you want more - no problems. But you can't transfer 99 byte and 4 bits. As for initial request - you supply input/output parameters with ANY pointer.Timer,counter,FC,FbandDBareparametertypes. From help "For parameter types STEP 7 stores the data type and the address of the parameters. The repetition factor is always 1." So you can't transfer more than 1 timer/counter. Can you explain what for do you need such functionality? I can understand if you want to transfer Counters, but Timers??? Anyway, you can make following - read timers/counters via L/LC command,storetheminINT/WORDarray and transfer as many INT variables as you like^)

Denilson Pegaia Diamond Member Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 1/14/2026 Posts: 4447 Rating: (1487)	Hi, when you use GET / PUT, the ANY POINTER must allways adress the first bit of the byte(xxxx.0), you transport multiples of one byte, and adress onlyI, Q, M and DB. If you need C or T, I suggest to use SFB 0...4 and transfer the respective instance DB.
