SIMATIC PDM crash

shtipkov Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I have SIMATIC PDM V6.1 (Single Point) + HART modem (MACTek) on a Windows XP SP3 system with Step7 5.4+SP5+HF4, WinCC, SIMOCODE ES, STARTER and a lot of other SIEMENS stuff. I managed to install the PDM software, modem driver and all DDs. I found my LR560 and hade communication with it. I've shut down the computer and the level transmitter, next day I could not communicate with the LR560. It's on the LIFELIST, but when I try to "Open Object" nothing happens. I tryed to uninstall/reinstall .... bla-bla, still the same !!! I did this on a VirtualPC with clear Windows XP SP3 install and everything is OK. I tryed to run manually p7sp_pdm_application_x.exe. On the Virtual PC it starts with "Open" dialog box, but on the real configuration it crashes directly with error "SIMATIC PDM cannot be started". Please, give me a solution for these crashes !!! and why it worked for the first time and after that it stopped ?

jm1983 Posts: 160 Rating: (6)	Hi shtipkov, I know that situation, the guilty : ¡¡ Softwares Conflicts !!. My advice : open the Task Manager and try to find the software that has conflict with the PDM, sometimes one that uses the communication port that needs to use the PDM ( Before using the PDM again did you install some software? ). Closes the possible processes one by one (of course try to identify to what software belongs this process) and after press F5 several times and proves if the PDM works. Good luck.

shtipkov Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Thank you guys !!! SR (system restore) didn't rescue me. I manualy removed all old SIMATIC PDM files (DLL's, DDs, config.s and so on). After that I reinstall SIMATIC PDM and voila it works again.
