Connecting WinCC Flexible 2007 to TP177B DP-6

WHB3 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	I've got a project for a TP170B mono (which I connect via RS232 to WinCC) that I need to trasfer to a TP177B DP-6 MSTN by changing the device type in WinCC and downloading it. I own a Siemens USB/PPI multi-master cable (6ES7 901-3DB30-0XA0) for my S7-200 plc--can I use this? It doesn't seem to power up when I plug it in and I don't see an option for it in WinCC flex. If not, can I use a generic usb to rs485 adapter? I found the document for using a usb host-to-host cable, I might try that if the above won't work. Thanks for your help!

What transfer options are available in the various operator panels? For the TP 170B it give you the choicebetween aserial RS-232 cable (6ES7 901-1BF00-0XA0), an MPI cable or a Profibus-DP connection. Hereyou will find thepinout of the serial null-modem cable 6ES7 901-1BF00-0XA0 in case you want to build one yourself. What is the serial cable assignment for transferring the configuration to a Windows-based device? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

How can you transfer data via USB from a WinCC flexible configuration computer to a Windows-based operator panel and which USB cables can be used for this? Hope this helps.
