PCS7 Multi Engineering Stations

minhajie Posts: 96 Rating: (10)	Hi, We have multi engineering stations in our PCS7 project. The problem we have is we want to use a Laptop as another engineering station but we have only one ethernet port on it. Since it got only one port I can access only terminal Bus. Is it possible I can use the master engineering as a gateway for my laptop i.e. the laptop will access the project over the terminal bus and when it needs to download to AS it will use master engineering station as gateway. If there is any other solution to configure a single etherner card laptop to be used a engineering station then please let me know. Thank You

RKP Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi Solution1: As engineering is used only for configuration. So you can connect the ES on plant bus. So that ES can communicate to AS via ISO or TCP/IP as per your configuration. This helps you to download the Configuration to AS. Generally on Termonal bus only Server & client use to be connected in which OS Client takes real time data from OS Server. This doesnot require ES generally as OS Client takes data from Server only. Solution 2 : If still you want to connect ES to Terminal bus you can use USB based TCP/ IP card. This can help you temporarily. These card are easily available in market. But i dont think Solution 2 is STANDARD Solution. Thanks RKP Try Try until you succeed...
