S5 to S7 Conversion

meeda Posts: 143 Rating: (5)	Dear All, Recently I converted an S5 program to an S7 program with the help of S5-->S7 Converter. There are a few things that I want to be clarified: 1) There are some blocks in the S5 program that neither contain any networks nor they are called in any other block, but their interface is defined there with input and output variables. In the converted S7 program, some of these blocks appear (again empty - no networks), and some blocks don't appear at all. What is happening here? Does this absence of blocks and empty blocks affect the program in any way? Will the program run smoothly? 2) Often, a statement appears in the converted S7 blocks i.e., NOP 0. I have read its description in SIMATIC Manager, but I want to know its cause and consequences in the program. Will the program work perfectly with/without this statement? Why does it appear in the first place?

The logic should be working fine if the S5 to S7 convertion did not generated any error. Check with S7 Simulator for ensuring the operation of converted logic.

funsimatic Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	1，some S5 system block developed by simens must be recoded in S7。some time you just delete it simply, because the function is not needed in s7. 2，nop 0 instruction make CPU do nothing。it help programmer read the logic easier
