Hello, please have a look in the safety integrated manual section 2.6 SLS: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/70235827This explains how theSLS works in detail. Additional, ensure, that the drive has ben commissioned properly. |

The G120 is always powered, we use the STO function to shut off the power in case of problem. The JOG mode is not used so often, 1 or 2 times a week, sometimes more. I got in touch with our SIEMENS hotline which got in touch with the german one who gives me the following links : http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/62069920 The hotlines confirmed me the fact that activating the SLS mode so often is not a problem, the problem could come from the STO / SS1 which needs time before being removed. Here is the full message received : for failsafe operation mode we have a function example, which can be used for you application. In jog mode / failsafe operation mode you can have a look on the interconnections in chapter 3. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/62069920 If SLS is selected so often, there is no problem, but be careful that the time between SLS selection and SLS active should be nearly 0 seconds. This time can be parameterized in the Sinamics. As I understood, the SLS limit is very small and just for operation / jog mode. If SLS is statically active then it is allowed to select between 2 safety functions (STO and SLS) with a standard signal, like OFF1. But be careful, if STO is selected with this standard signal and at the same time the Sinamics should be switched on via OFF1, then you will have an deadlock, because after deselecting STO the Sinamics is not ready yet. So you need a time delay between STO deselection and switchting on. If for this machine also automatic or other modes are used then you have to check that the velocity of the drive does not exceed the SLS limit. |
