Is there any PLC available with in built Bluetooth or Wifi system?

There is however a movement in PLC development to change PLCs to work more like PCs. But it might just stay at skin-deep level or maybe just in the way programming is done. At this moment I do not know of a big PLC make that has wireless tech as standard in the base unit. Extension cards does however exist does some type of wireless communication. If you knew the background of what conflict exists between manufacturers for agreeing on communication standards, you might appriciate why. PLUS copy right / trademark issues also gets to show its teeth. (The suppliers for Phoenix Contact and the guys Festo uses for their PLCs might have a solution.) There are plenty of micro controller development that make these communications available. Development computers are also a field that can be explored for such projects. The industry does not seem to push in that direction too much. Personally? I would like to have a PLC that can be programmed with a USB cable or network cable piggibacking on the stuff we know and use from the PC world. Networking with other PLCs and computers should not be such a specialized field of knowledge. Having a field device should not be such a big investment either. If "standard" comms were used more or these were open more, your wish for WiFi be a reality. My 2c, w

RKM Posts: 93 Rating: (13)	Dear Him, As a cost effective solution use ethernet/PN port cpu and an ethernet switch with built in wifi to communicate with wifi partners. Till today there is not any PLC in siemens to have such desired facility. Regards.

This type of PLC are still not available in market but if your main concern for wireless communication then Phoenix and some other brand like unitronics ..have the CPU which support GPS/GPRS communication includes modems and also standard function library for it for remote data exchanged viral patel
