Input data exchange using DP/DP coupler

MeeSanjay Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hello, We have 2 independent sets of 317F CPUsand ET200S F IOs. ( 2 different PROFIBUS netwoks). We want some Finputs to be common, i.e. used by both CPUs. 1. CanI use DP-DP coupler to connect these system & exchange input statusinformation between two CPUs ? 2. Is this data exchange Failsafe ? Regards !

Hi, On your questions the following answers: A1. Yes, you have to use the ProfiSafe option, you can not program that on the DP/DP-coupler but you have to use the failsafe function blocksF_DP_SEND and F_DP_RECV. With this blocks you can send/receive 2 bytes of booleans and 2 words with integers Failsafe to the other F-CPU. A2. As mentioned it is... Consider that you first have to call the F_DP_RECV, then do something with that data and at last program the F_DP_SEND.
