STEP 7 logic to use a SIMOCODE via Profibus-DP

cemagolane Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I am new here and I don't have much experience with Profibus-DP, so apologies if the question is a bit silly. I have a S7-400 that is a master, and a SIMOCODE pro V that is a slave. I have configured the hardware as S7-400 DP master and the SIMOCODE pro V as slave Basic Type 1 with I address (512...521) and Q address (512..515). The parameters of the SIMOCODE have already been set with a SIMOCODE ES application. My question is, how can I write/read the information to/from the SIMOCODE? Do I need to use any type of SFC in the S7-400? I have been searching on this forum and the internet, but I can't find any examples. Thanks in advance.

dmertens Silver Member Joined: 10/3/2007 Last visit: 10/29/2025 Posts: 188 Rating: (34)	You do not need to use SFC14 and 15 for reading and writing to the DP slave but rather just read the inputs and outputs in the process image you created. The meaning of each bit, byte or word is explained in the manual. If you do not trust your abilities to getit right or you do not want to spend the time you can use the blocks available in theDrive ES S7 library (unfortunately they are not free).
