PLC S7-400 - the three position of the battery switch

yaloo Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	playerslight Change the battery with the plc on .If you shut off the plc you will lose the program .Just follow the steps listed earlier and you should be good to go In S7 400 PLC Power module is using two ithium battery, below this battery have one selector switch which have three position:-1. 2 Batt., 2. OFF, 3. 1 Batt. My question is what is mean of thisthree selection and accoding to stander in which position switch have to keep.

At position one, only battery 1 is monitored, if bat one is empty BAF led is lit. At position 2 both bateries are monitored, if one bat is empty BAF led is lit. At position OFF there is no monitoring and therefore no BAF led . Normaly you only use the off position for changing the bateries. 2 batteries mounted and monitoring both is the safest thing to do. yaloo Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	Thank for your answer. This switch is only for monitoring purpose, means if BATT1F fault is coming then battery 1 is faulty but battery 2 is ok and PLC backup will be ok if power failure. I am right or not?
