S7-400 can't "see" IF-964 DP

Twinsen Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	We decided to extend our profibus DP network and installed IF 964-DP module (6ES7 964-2AA04-0AB0) in the 414-3 PN/DP CPU (6ES7 414-3EM06-0AB0 / V6.0). I changed and reloaded the hardware config but CPU dosen't see the newly inserted module! It says "Preset/Actual mismatch, slot is empty". I powered it off and on, cold started - to no avail. Is the module defective or am I doing something wrong?

The Cover must be permanentlyattached with the IF-964 DP in order to activate the micro switch of IF-964 DP. If the IF-964 DP (6ES7 964-2AA04-0AB0) does not have a closing cover, Please contact the Customer Support and you will get more Information about IF-964 DP. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/16605032

Evgeniy Plokhov Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	Thanks for your reply BigCologne! I have the new module without the cover. This is what I did: 1. Reconfigured the rack in Hardware Configuration, i.e. deleted the old rack and inserted a new one; 2. Reset the CPU memory; 3. Downloaded the reconfigured config into the CPU. After these steps CPU has finally started seeing the IF-964 DP, so now it works fine.
