Hello nr.37; The DCU3200 is declared obsolete by ABB, and shows no available downloads, so it seems difficult to give you precisehelp on the subject: http://www.abb.ca/product/seitp334/2e2fa5f5ae791711c1256f010050cc0f.aspx What do you have to program the DCU3200, what communication module do you have for Profibus-DP, and is it a master or a slave interface? Basically, any basic communications over Profibus-DP requires that one master be defined on the netwok, let's say the S7 CPU for this example; therefore the DCU3200 would be setup as a slave. The Profibus configurator of the S7 CPU (which is incorporated in the Simatic ManagerHWConfig editor) needs to integrate a file (provided by the manufacturer od the slave, in this case ABB) called a GSD file. This is a text file that contains information that a master needs to setup data exchanges with a slave. Once the Profibus configurator has this file in its database, you can configure the slave's exchanges, for your example setup the 20 analog values of the DCU3200you want to read in the master (you basically indicate to the master where in the slave' memory it can findthese registers). You also have to go into the slave's programming/configuration to set the node address so it matches the one selected in the S7's Profibus configuration. So: do you have access to the files and softwarerequired in this example? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier. |
