Logo and knx/eib

JohnJohnJohn Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Logo! can be used with knx/eib thanks to the CM knx/eib module. The scenario I'm investigating is if I can use this for home automation. An example; I have 16 physical light points and 16 physical knx buttons (1 on 1 to make the example a bit easier). I would want that each button is attached to the bus. So, the logo would have to read its inputs from the bus. However, logo does not have to sent anything on the bus, it has to use its physical outputs to control my lights. As far as I can understand the knx/eib module is however a "fill up" module. So, knowing logo's sizing: "LOGO! supports a maximum of 24 digital inputs, 8 analog inputs, 16 digital outputs, and 2 analog outputs (Page 13)" The logo already has 4 outs, to get to 16 I would need two expansion modules with 8IOs and 4IOs. This would give me 16outs and 20inputs (8 from the base module and 12 from the expansios). Since I need the expension modules for the outputs, it also means they take away the amount of inouts I can address via the eib. If I understand it correctly, this would leave me with 4 free inputs to be assigned via the eib. 4 buttons to steer 16 lights is a bit on the low side. am I correct? or can I somehow still disable the physical inputs I got from the expansions on the logo and read them from the eib instead? Secondly; 16 light points is a bit on the low side as well. I know I can couple logo's via ethernet (master/slave) but can they also share the same eib? in other words, if I couple two logo's (assume there are no expensions instaled, just 2x the base module with 2xcm knx/eib) can I connect them both to the same bus and will I be able to use 2x the free in/outs on the bus?

"Each LOGO! Base Module supports the following connections for the creation of the circuit program, regardless of the number of connected modules: ● Digital inputs I1 to I24 ● Analog inputs AI1 to AI8 ● Digital outputs Q1 to Q16 ● Analog outputs AQ1 to AQ2 ● Network digital inputs: NI1 to NI64 ● Network analog inputs: NAI1 to NAI32 ● Network digital outputs: NQ1 to NQ64 ● Network analog outputs: NAQ1 to NAQ16" You can run up to 8 LOGO! basic modules on one net (SIMATIC S7 communication)with one central program or different decentral programs. The specification regarding CM EIB/KNX is to be found on page 342. Regards
