HMI advanced installation doubt

CarlosRnD Posts: 34 Rating: (0)	Hi all, Could I install HMI advanced in a regular PC? I've been reading some threads and I dont have it clear, do I need a PCU50 or so? I want to communicate a PC with a VB HMI (Win7) with another PC with HMI advanced (WinXP), so I can start learning without getting new hw, is it posible? I'm thinking about installing sincom for the communications. Thanks for your time.

Btw, I've found a document about the installation (attached below) It says: You can choose one of three different installation methods: • Online with NCU link At least one network card must be installed in the PC for this purpose. In this mode, you can operate an 840D sl as if it were a PCU 50.3. • Local without link to an NCU. • Local without link to an NCU, but with a simulated NCK. The "Online" version must be selected. Both local modes have not been released for use. So just for some tests the better option seems to be the 3rd one, right?
