Transfering pointer through FB

hideto Posts: 6 Rating: (1)	Hello In my company we wrote a lot of the common instructions for S7-1200 that helps us creating programs as we just pick instructions and put them into project like Lego bricks. Those instructions f.ex. sets ModBus RTU communication between cpu and inventer. Instruction ModBus_Master contains variable 'DATA_PTR' which need pointer to the place in the memory we want to save our trasfer data. At this moment we set this pointer manualy inside FB, but it gives us couple of problems when we would like to use this instruction couple of times, as pointer stays the same. We would like to take this pointer out of FB. My idea was to just create InOut variable of 'Variant' type inside that would travel pointer from place where fb is caled into the fb. At this moment i dont have cpu phisicly on my desk so i can't check if it works. But it gives me some concerns that the 'InOut' variable did not give me absolute value. I think screens would tell more. I would like to know if this may work and if not... maybe someone would know the way to 'make it happen'. ---- L.Kacprzykowski Attachment indirect.jpg (352 Downloads)
